Innovative Staging for the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment

Alexander Jardine - Senior Health Planner (TSA Riley)

Ashleigh Hoffman - Project Director (TSA Riley)

Marcus Haines - Project Director (Health Infrastructure NSW)

Ryde Hospital is a long-established district hospital serving Sydney’s northern suburbs, providing acute, subacute, and community health services to a rapidly growing population. The $526.8 million Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will deliver expanded emergency and intensive care services, new operating theatres, a modern ambulatory care centre, a paediatric short stay unit and an increase in adult overnight inpatient beds.

The redevelopment will ensure that Ryde Hospital is a sustainable, adaptable and digitally enabled hospital that supports high quality care and meets the long-term health needs of the Ryde community. The presentation will give an overview of the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment which is being delivered on a complex brownfield site without compromising continuity of care.

The presentation will highlight the development of an alternative staging approach, which included the deployment of temporary demountable buildings for clinical and non-clinical use, to streamline construction timeframes, minimise disruption to services, and keep the project on budget.

All AAHP members will receive an email invitation with the MS Teams link included. If you are not a member and would like to attend, please email us to receive a link. We welcome new members. To join, please visit our website.
