Committee and Subcommittees
The Australasian Association of Health Planners (AAHP) is guided by a dedicated Committee, composed of Health Planners from across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This group has been instrumental in driving the association's success since its establishment in early 2024. To support the work of the Steering Committee, four key sub-committees have been established, each focusing on crucial areas that contribute to the growth and impact of the AAHP:
Communications and Events: The Communications and Events Subcommittee supports member engagement, professional development, and the promotion of AAHP activities. Its work includes coordinating regular educational forums and events, managing communications through the AAHP website and social media platforms, and supporting initiatives that connect members, share knowledge, and raise the profile of the Association.
Body of Knowledge: The Body of Knowledge Subcommittee focuses on developing and strengthening the knowledge, capabilities and educational foundations of the health planning profession. Its work includes developing professional reference resources, supporting education and training pathways, and collaborating with academic and industry partners to promote professional learning and excellence in health planning practice.
Membership: The Membership Subcommittee processes and assesses membership applications against the AAHP Membership Tier Framework. The subcommittee focuses on growing and strengthening the AAHP membership base by establishing pathways for professional progression and recognition, enhancing membership services, engagement, and benefits.
Industry Engagement: The Industry Engagement Subcommittee focuses on building strategic relationships and strengthening recognition of the health planning profession across the healthcare sector. Its work includes engaging with government, industry and professional organisations, identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnerships, and advocating for the value of health planning expertise in shaping sustainable, effective and people-centred health systems and services.
Together, these subcommittees support the AAHP's commitment to building professional capability, strengthening connections, advancing knowledge, and promoting excellence in health planning across Australia and New Zealand.
